The Solarium: Tanning Tips from Sol Sun Therapy
Tip!
A good tan starts with healthy skin. With this in mind, it is vitally important that you use a high quality lotion that is suitable for your tan "level". Are you building a base tan? You probably want to use a Step 1 product. Are you trying to put your base into the next level of glow? Try a Step 2.
Tip!
Be sure to use the right lotion during your tan. Step 1 lotions are specially formulated to help you develop that base; Step 2 products advance tan development for darker, richer color. And always remember to keep moist afterwards! Use a high quality extender or maximizer to keep your skin soft, smooth, moist, and tan!
Tip!
White patches on the shoulder blades and above the buttocks are called pressure points. They are caused by the pressure from the body as it reclines on a hard surface. This pressure inhibits the flow of blood through that area of the skin. Since blood carries oxygen which is essential to the tanning process, this area cannot tan under the pressure.
Periodic body shifting during tanning will take care of the pressure points. The stand-up SunDash Radius 252s are also a great way to eliminate pressure points along with our hand-held airbrush CustomBronzer Sunless Tan, which is available by appointment at our salons.
